A SHOP-A-DO
« Previous Main Next »

hi there.
2 lessons i have learned while finishing up my last project of the year ---
[1] i don't like items i'm working on to all be the same. for example, i love it when a printed piece has its own character; its own stroke of ink from the letterpress. i get easily frustrated when i am trying to make things uniformed ... so i just don't. isn't it more exciting to have a one-of-a-kind??
[2] i have lofty goals that i don't always meet. i make lists, then i revise them and each time little things fall off those lists. it is an interesting test to not feel down about what i have not accomplished but ultimately, i'm okay with it. revisions are a part of life, right?
so, lessons learned, i will be participating, with lots of other amazing artists, at a HOLIDAY SHOP-A-DO SALE tomorrow evening. if you are in the portland area, don't miss it. i am sharing my table with my dear friend karen gelardi and i just got a peek at her stuff ... it's so inspiring!
i am going to have these letterpress printed candy cups there, as well as some cards, tags, prints, gift bags, signs, etc. if i have leftovers of any new stuff, i'll throw it into my shop on thursday. and note: the shop closes for a month on december 15!
have a nice day,
mav
p.s. thank you for the additional books to the list yesterday. keep them coming!!!

Hee! I am SURE to drop off at least one thing from my list each day. And it's almost always out of laziness that I don't do it.

I went to the first Space shop-a-do back in the day before I moved to Chicago and it was fantastic. I bought my all-time favorite shirt there. Too bad I won't be back in Portland until the 21st. Le sigh...

nodding head here...:)
The candy cups would be great hanging on a tree. They're lovely.
