KNOWING ME; KNOWING YOU ... JUST THROUGH THE COMPUTER
« Previous Main Next »

friends ... friday ... we are here ... i am relieved.
weekend time ... i'll do a bit of printing, sleeping, drinking, brunching and will continue to catch up so that monday i will start it all fresh!
as i said this week i was up & down each day ... feeling the weight of life but knowing that if i could just look through my lens at something beautiful + have a few moments to write to those friends who read this blog it could all go out into the universe and straighten itself out. or at the very least, just feel like it might be closer to straightening itself out.
is this indeed why we blog?
are we pen pals? good friends writing to each other on the web? sharing ideas ... art ... inspiration and going to this resource when we need to feel that something, that connection? do we get to know each other through the fuzziness of the world and find a space for positive feedback & growth out here? i know i count on the friends i have met in this space. i think it goes without saying that blogging means a lot to me. i want to think about it and talk about it next week.
for now ........ i will share.
friday flickr favorites

i'm so happy i found your blog. it's like a nice coffee/tea time chat with lots of lovely folks from all over the globe. your style is so sweet and intimate--i love it.
i wish i was brave enough to start a blog. i love the exchange of ideas and the moral support it seems to create. however, my writing skills are poopy and between a 2-year old, working full-time, going to school AND attempting to work on knitting and learning to sew...it's kind of low on the list.
hope the weekend picks you back up!

There once was a girl from Nantucket,
Who kept craft supplies ina bucket,
One of her cute little bows,
Was right on her nose,
When asked why,
Her reply...
"That's just where I stuck it!"
-- Well, you asked what I had to say *smile*. I had to make this poem up just for you. I too am sorry for the downs but I am all to happy for the ups. Although, I am not really a part of your elite pen pals, I am super super glad that I get to read along!!

I have a pretty tight group of good friends in "real life" we hang out our fair share, but mostly we 'do things' and 'make things' as a way to stay involved in each others life. I know that over the last year I have made a small list of what I can only trust are like minded folks that are my new age pen pals. I love checking and sharing with them words, inspiration and sometimes post. Miss M, I love that you are included there. I love that I can give one of your handmade treats to my friends for their birthday and tie my real and my fuzzy computer life together in a pretty bow.
poetry friday for you from one of my favourites...
Buddha in Glory
Center of all centers, core of cores,
almond self-enclosed, and growing sweet--
all this universe, to the furthest stars
all beyond them, is your flesh, your fruit.
Now you feel how nothing clings to you;
your vast shell reaches into endless space,
and there the rich, thick fluids rise and flow.
Illuminated in your infinite peace,
a billion stars go spinning through the night,
blazing high above your head.
But in you is the presence that
will be, when all the stars are dead.
Rainer Maria Rilke
relax, rejuvenate, rejoice this weekend.
besitos,
Autumn

hi mav, love your thoughts especially today. it is funny how we begin to rely on these friends out in the world whom we've never met. it's comforting and also confuing, but comforting more so. i love the questions you ask and the things you make the rest of us think about that we may not have thought about on our own. thank you for that. hope the bumpiness smooths itself out for you soon..!

I too am so happy I found your blog. I find it calming and inspirational, and a gateway to a bunch of other wonderful blogs and people. Blogging is such an interesting and odd experience. I like your thought that it's like penpals online. Or sort of like a shared note journal that gets passed around from person to person in between classes...

I LOVE what Camilla has to say about this blogging world. Yes. When the computer is off and you are still thinking of people--that enters the realm of 'friends'. What a lovely image. And gosh, blogging bringing those friendships to tangible real interactions in our daily lives? absolutely amazing. So glad that blogging introduced US to each other, my friend!
