THE ALWAYS LOVED BIRD

hello!
okay, so let's talk about birds. they are so inspiring to me and i have gotten a lot of feedback lately that you all feel the same way. there IS something special with birds, right? i dedicated the january card {and the p2p postcard that was sent out in december} to the soaring bird because i feel that this image represents so much for me artistically. i can't quite put my finger on why but to think on it further, let's look at some other amazing work that celebrates birds ...

-- an entire art show dedicated to the bird house can be viewed online through thedrama.org.
-- mary emma hauthorne's current work with bird boxes + her series white on white.
-- lisa makes beautiful modbirds.
-- jolly designs from abby normal here & here.
-- super work from nebo peklo + amy ruppel + sesame press.
-- so perfect are the early bird pendant light + eagle & bows shirt + modern birdhouses.
-- and lastly, very nice references we can all continue to use can be found on birdcheck and the ohio bird collection sites.

so maybe my love for birds has to do with the sheer variety out there -- or the wide open wingspan when they soar through the air -- or it could just be that i think they are beautiful. if you have a favorite bird inspiration will you be so kind as to put it in the comments section?

oh and before signing off ... still thinking about birds and want to be WOW'd? check it.
